PSA: We don't like the giant crab for pvp.

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 10:43 AM PDT

You would have to nerf it so it takes lots of damage ( x6 damage from weapon or something , so is not used for pvp at all, or make it untameable, if i want to use a giant crab i think i would had gone back to ark.
Also a lot of players assume you gonna need a submarine to get it, nah bro myself and a group of players already figured out how to get one naked with just bows and arrows, you will most likely see them being use within the first week.

Player shop / pve land questions

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 08:14 AM PDT

Hey guys I've been out since the wipe announcement and I've been patiently waiting the wipe. I've been keeping up on patch notes and trying to watch some YouTube clips of the PTR but being a new dad I've had very little time. Hopefully someone could help me out here with a few simple questions. FYI I play PVE 1) how does the player shop work? Just a brief explanation would be grateful I'm really looking forward to the economic aspect of the game 2) is it now possible for a solo player to claim some land? Also for a part-time player like myself is it possible to maintain a plot of land for say 3-4 days without playing with no fear of losing it? Lawless has worked for me in the past with the 5 day timer I never missed it

    Still can't rebind controls properly...

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 11:56 AM PDT

I'm left-handed, and I realize this is only a problem for somewhere between 5 - 13 people... BUT it is an annoyance that should be fixed. I want to play the game without using my keyboard software to make it comfortable to play. I find that remapping keys isn't ideal both in terms of gameplay and regular computer use, and hope you guys will upvote this to bring this problem to the developers attention.

For those curious I use the NUMPAD. N8/N4/N5/N6 is my version of WASD for you righties.

the game still needs more incentive for ship pvp

    Posted: 10 Apr 2019 08:57 PM PDT

I've got about 600 hours played and probably spent 2% of that time doing ship pvp. Part of that problem was that my ships would always be offlined but it seems like this new claim system is a start in the right direction to fix that. However i still think we need some more incentive for doing ship pvp.

As of right now any enemy ship is just kill on sight so i feel this problem needs to be addressed. One idea i think they should look at is making it possible to board enemy ships by have the ballista shoot a grappling hook at an enemy ship and pull it closer so you could jump aboard. maybe have something in the piracy spec that lets you make the ammo you would need and/or have buffs when fighting on an enemy ship. for example being able to temporarily disable their guns when on their ship or something so two ships can be side to side while we fight on the decks. perhaps you would be able to steal someone's ship this way because i dont think claiming ships is a thing which i think it should be. just an idea which would make it more of a pirate game.

I do agree with the idea that has been floating around of having a ship storage which is only accessed when anchored. perhaps it could have a weight reduction buff. This would would stop people from popcorning so you would have a reward if you do sink their ship.

please devs... focus on the ship pvp. this game needs more attention on that part

Thanks for the big F*** you to NA PVE

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 08:45 AM PDT

Title says it all. This post really is just to bring attention that some people do ACTUALLY play PVE.

Pretty bummed that NA PVE get's pushed aside so Empires can be born. I mean, we were there for PTR, but I suppose that doesn't matter. It doesn't really feel like PVE has mattered at all. EU PVE is up? Cool, let me just play with 250+ ping and then start over AGAIN when the NA servers up. Sigh.

I am pretty salty about this ha. It feels like we've been waiting forever to get this wipe out of the way and move on with this game. Finally see a date in the headlines, only to be let down even more. PVP just isn't my thing, esp for a player who plays with two other buddies and that's it.

I really enjoy this game and I want to enjoy, but it's been pushed and beaten so much that it's exhausting to keep game alive with me.

    Thanks Devs. RIP

    PSA about ship levels

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 02:03 AM PDT

my company tested a journeymen ,and masterwork shipyard, the level cap was 42, and 43 respectively. This was very disappointing as we expected a higher level cap for a masterworks shipyard, also if anyone is curious we had a 120% quality ship, so definitely 1 level over the common cap is not justified.

    Just had a thought

    Posted: 10 Apr 2019 07:43 PM PDT

What if tames and NPC crew counted toward your company size? Or at least have a server with this "rule" like the colony server that is supposed to be geared toward small groups that is obviously not since the large companies are just playing on it anyway.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I personally think tames need dialed WAY back. If u want to play with creatures and animals play ark. They need to get this game more in a ship direction and instead of adding a giant crab they should have added another ship design or something that has to do with ships in my opinion. I'm cool with the livestock animals and horses to ride, but everything else needs to just not be tameable i think if we are going to make this into a pirate game. But since that's probably never ever going to happen at least have some kind of drawback so that it promotes ship battles and gets us away from the land raiding with tames and carts.
