Every day i see dozens of ships get destroyed at freeports ( solution ) Posted: 13 Apr 2019 10:20 AM PDT This has been suggested hundreds of times, add a system to store your ships on the cloud at freeports, like storing your mounts like any other mmo, so your casual players and solos dont have to be forced to claim land and forced to quit , add public crafting stations at freeports ( where items get crafted from inventory ) etc etc. [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 12 Apr 2019 10:51 PM PDT Separately the new capture mechanics are fantastic. Together, they are terrible. Case in point, my company has been trying to capture an island since launch. A single company of only a few people have decided they don't want us to have it after they captured it from under us while we were capping it. How did a company of 4 or 5 stop a company of 20 from taking an island? By naked spawning and hiding in bushes within the flags enormous range. For 9 hours. We killed literally hundreds of them and they continued to respawn on the island even after all the beds were destroyed. The worst part about all this is that the timer to take the island reached 4 minutes and through exploiting this mechanic they drove it back up to an hour. Really would appreciate some kind of fix for this, such as preventing naked spawning on an island that is vulnerable with no beds. During protected time, great naked spawn all day. But during vulnerable time there is no need for that as it invites abuse. Also even removing the mechanic that makes the timer go up would also be perfectly valid. [link] [comments] | ||
Shipwreck almost sunk our ship-The new random gen shipwrecks Posted: 13 Apr 2019 05:06 AM PDT A Shipwreck almost sunk our ship. EU PVE SERVER. I felt the need to warn people that shipwrecks are extremely bad to ram. We were sailing as a group of 3 on a schooner and rammed a shipwreck during night time, it ripped 3 planks off and did around 3,600 damage to over all planks and nearly sank our ship. Had our captain not put points into it sinking slower we would of for sure lost it. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and if not then sail safely and watch out for those shipwrecks. For people that haven't seen them yet, they are floating boxes, and parts of a ship in the water that are solid objects and can do massive damage to ships sailing through them... Posted: 13 Apr 2019 12:33 AM PDT During PTR I was able to out maneuver all the SOTD. Today we built a schooner and I was expecting the same results. When I saw one on my left and one on my right I usually go in between them with out getting damaged ( Including the largest SOTD). They just started shooting very quicky and sunk our schooner in 1 volley. Has any one noticed them being this aggressive? Needless to say they reload pretty quicky and have deadly aim lol. Was looking at jumping into atlas and joining a large guild. I honestly don't know much about it outside of a few trailers. Which I remember ark trailers and the actual game didn't look at all like the trailers. I'm not sure on server size as this was advertised as an mmo, and I don't consider anything with small player count caps like ark an mmo by any means. [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 13 Apr 2019 11:18 AM PDT I'm not going to talk down to you as if you're animals, I'm going to treat you as adults from this point forward unless I see total BS, then gloves come back off. I think you deserve a second shot at this beta and from my standpoint right now, I wish you all the best of luck. I want this game to be a success. Players dont respect "whatever you guys want," we need a middle ground of accepting players feedback via polls, general discussions (even debates), and through popular mods. The modding community, the player base and you yourselves are all what will make or break this game but either way we need those roadmaps to continue because it gives us hope that there's still a lot more to come, I'm sure your investors would agree that they're a positive thing. I just have seen this studio bend over backwards and you guys know you deserved it, internal mismanagement on an epic scale but now you guys are starting to stand back up again and wipe yourselves off. Grow that backbone, stay the course and never put yourselves above your player base because at the end of the day you won't have a player base left to speak of. After the wipe I recreated my company called, "reborn crows", but some of friends don't want to play atlas anymore and someone already quit after a day of playing. 2 other friends of mine will probably join this weekend but I know we are too few atm. I wondered if someone wanted to play in a chill and friendly way (not toxic at all) or, worst case scenario, if some company is looking for alliances. Posted: 13 Apr 2019 09:21 AM PDT People are now actively debating where it's even worth playing as the groups such as NoNoNo, TPG and CSTG are making many small groups to take over large portions of the map. This is driving people to quit, and others to debate whether it's worth playing since Megas are now dominating the small colony server in 1 whole day. As I also predicted your Empire server is dead. What's next? I don't think you guys (devs) seem to understand the mentality of the megas. Fair play isn't in their repertoire. Easy play on the other hand is. They're always going to exploit a system for small groups simply because they have numbers and because they can. There is literally no rule set to stop it, they need to be wiped and forced to play by the rules or relocated to the Empires server. [link] [comments] | ||

If you're stuck on an island with silver and no gems, or Cobalt with no salt, then you are forced to travel 1 or more tiles to collect. I feel islands should contain each material required to make an individual ingot on that island. Thoughts? [link] [comments] | ||

I love survival games, and almost exclusivly play them. My team and I have a metric ton of experience in survival games, and out of our 15 players, there is currently 1 that is still excited for Atlas. ONE DAY after the wipe......! 15 of us had hopes for the wipe. However after what we just experienced its quite clear how far removed your team is from logical thinking. This isnt a bug, a glitch, or them not ever keeping a release date on time. No this is, yet again, straight up dumb game design, from a incompetent game studio. What am I talking about? Go try and claim a island from someone whos online. If theres enough bushes you can solo "defend"(Excist in a bush) vs 20-30 ppl. Oh but: Raid their base, kill their beds, sink their ships, kill their tames huh? The defenders dont need any of that to defend. You see defending an island in Atlas requires two things: A respawn (which you currently dont need a bed for) B) Have a person in a bush. Sounds like fun huh? The attackers needs to hold the flag for 1 hour, without ANY enemy naked players being within a GIGANTIC ring (the claim flag radius) Theres a tracker you can use on the enemy flag, but 90% of the time it doesnt work at all. What would I do if I was in charge? Well its so blatantly obvious to me that during a attack, ALL enemy players are displayed with a icon over their heads at all time, while they are within the claim flag radius. This would promote pvp and actually fighting over the land. Anyways thats enough venting from me. Hope the rest of you find enjoyment in Atlas. [link] [comments] | ||

It's been helpful to level up my guy and whatnot so even if it immediately blew up upon logging out I wouldn't be too upset at this point. Also my time with Ark had me experience losing nearly everything more than once... My decay demolish timer shows as being 10 days. Does that mean the building starts decaying(losing health) after I initially log off and after 10 days it'll be completely gone? Or does the mechanic work differently than that?
