    The large gates (8×16) are absurd and only served the purpose of allowing people to block entire islands, treasure map spawns and other general trolling. They are an eyesore to most people trying to build a place to keep their tames. Please guys, help us bring this request into the spotlight.

    So we claimed land and one structure has not changed ownership. We were given the land by another company and the structure never changed to their company either, it remained in possession of whoever built it first. Any ideas on how to change it?

    You ever have that feeling of dread when you pull your ship up to your bay and realize, you the captain of that might fine vessel are gonna have to spend 10 minutes to dock. Well my suggestion would fix that and possibly more. I for one love Atlas I See it as a brilliant game. I had this idea to improve it. I suggest that a special crewman be set for sale in the crew ship, a slightly more expensive crewman, a higher end crewman, the first mate. You would only be allowed to have one per ship and they would be able to a variety of things.

    You could set docking positions, and when within short distance of said dock you could hold e on the helm and it would provide an option to dock, our first mate would take the helm and dock ship.

    With the first mate aboard he could set the sails into the wind automatically whilst not in combat.

    And much more, my puddle deep knowledge of game development hampers me from coming up with any more ideas.

    Nerfed explosive barrel because of undesirable gameplay. Yet oil jars and flame arrows do the same without the noise.

    I'm happy about the barrel, just want them to take the next step. It is just so hard to keep one person from finding a hole in defenses. And they can use a very small amount of of resources to destroy things that take a lot to make.

    Edit 1: after some conversing I feel like we need a better notification system for boats with crew on the to alert the company if a plank falls to low enough hours to leak or break. I know there is a company log for broken stuff but it's not visible enough to rely on.

    I understand darkness underwater, in caves, or hell even during storms but my screen shouldn't be black, ever. This isn't a thriller/horror game so darkness is of no advantage to the theme or any aspects of the game.

    Please fix the transitions from day to night, too. It's practically seizure inducing.

    Edit: To be more specific, the dark, at its darkest point, is actually almost black. It typically doesn't last long but having to add gamma and constantly take it away is annoying.

    On top of that the transitions between day and night are wonky as hell. Essentially everything will be bright.... Bright.... Bright... Then BAM out of nowhere it's dark as fuck and it's hard to see, then it will transition into this weird state where it's flipping between dark and black screen and then it will finally be what nights supposed to look like, which is viable but barely.

    Keep getting constant crashes, more and more often, like every 10-30mins now. it seems to get worse by the week.

    Tried fresh installs, updated all drivers, even tried rolling some back. Tested all hardware and can't find any faults or failures, only having problems with Atlas.

    I can test it myself later I suppose if necessary. But if anyone knows the answer offhand it'll save me some time.

    Working on getting the boat slips up in our harbor tonight on our unofficial server and I'm just curious about how many foundations wide to make boat slips for each type of boat.

    Hacker wiped all resources, materials, and tames.

    Ok so just logged in discord and the game for first time today to find out our ships, base, towers have been wiped clean of everything by a hacker and no damage has been done to anything.. all our resource gathering tames are missing and multiple companies had the same thing happen to them

    Render Range

    Ever had a good time sailing the open seas? Made epic discoveries and explored new lands? Probably fucking not since your render range is about the same distance as your grandparents combined pee trail and more often than not you run into enemy structures that render in after youve collided, youre supposed to explore and venture into unknown lands? when most of the time you are forced to take babysteps when you see an island so as to not run into magical wall that appears after youve collided, and get mortared to absolute shit. Did i miss a "Glaucoma" checkbox on character creation or what. And yes i do understand that most people have hardware limitations me included, but i cant imagine rendering the 15 Dolphins and 10 sharks that trail your boat should be the priority when approaching land. PS Snakes are cold blooded.

    Residue (kind of keratinoid)

    I just spent 1 hour trying to farm some residue from Jellyfish and came back with 14. I need about 1000 to make my mythic armor and i'm in solo. I had to stop somewhere in the middle of the ocean, jump down until i hit the ocean until i find either a shark, whale or a jellyfish (i found more whale than jellyfish) and only found 3 jellyfish and about 6 whales. Either jellyfish need to gives more residue or there is maybe another source of a 6th type of keratinoid that i dont know.

    So there I was so excited about the kraken being fixed. (Our first attempt was 1/20/2019) I went in SotD dying, tentacles were too soft imo, just blasting away with a galley 3 brigs and a schooner. I was like oh snap we are wrecking this then a brig rapidly died :( I was like maybe it was just some bad luck maybe it was just https://clips.twitch.tv/EntertainingPlayfulMinkDancingBaby . We have a lot of theory as to what causes this but we can't find a consistent factor. I am wondering if anybody knows a good way to have an actual chat with somebody that works for grapeshot?
