My company is Boycotting the game. We deserve better than this. Posted: 16 May 2019 11:37 AM PDT Pretty much the title. I have well over 1k hours in this game and I can honestly say that this game has potential. But I'm afraid its not going to be in Grapeshot's hands if it will. I've seen many a things, from Black Butterfly, to hacked admin accounts, to airplanes flying around on official servers, to aim botters, to dupers, to sinking ships with overweight bugs and more. Time and time again I've said to myself, they are going to fix it, they are going learn from their mistakes, they are going to be more communicative with the player base. I was wrong. Today has been the last straw for me. As of today, I am no longer going to play the game until we get an official statement about how they plan to address banning/temp-banning the player base that openly exploited this glitch and its xp gains through guillotine spam, and how they plan to remove the insanely overpowered craftable items that will ruin gameplay, that wasn't even close to achievable with the current state of the game. Just to give you a few examples of what can be achieved by capping levels and using Intelligence, which doesn't even have diminishing returns, you can pretty much have unlimited amounts of. You just have to keep rolling for higher and higher %. A lvl 150 character with 5 set pieces of x50-60% Intelligence gear can reach somewhere around 3k Intelligence and even more in some cases. Which means massive rolling. Which means that you can effectively start making xHealth gear with massive Health boosts, in some cases even being able to reach 1.5k-2k Health. And that's not even taking into account the damage reduction you can get from also rolling high on armor stats. You basically turn into a machine with any ship being specced into intelligence and using the Reload Overdrive Feat. ( Intelligence lowers cool downs) You can craft Weight gear pretty much being able to carry upwards of 5k weight on you. You call this not duping? I say so. What about rolling a 150% mythical plank, and since we know that such items can stack. Voila! What about Mythical carbines reaching well over 500% Damage? Pretty much being able to 1-2 shot your tames. What about Swivel Cannons, Medium Cannons, Large Cannons, and the list goes on? I rest my case. We deserve better than this. We deserve better than players who participated in using the Guillotine Exploit come on to official ATLAS channels and telling people to practically 'git gud' and saying that it was working as intended without repercussions, that they were 'thinking outside the box' using a goofed XP mechanic from the developers. We deserve better than Community managers actively ignoring players outcries about this game-breaking, PvP balance breaking mistake, which is, in my eyes, even worse than the duping fiasco. We deserve better than the developers not even having the common courtesy to at least say 'hey, we fucked up, we are looking into fixing this'. They don't deserve even the small loyal player base that sticks around to play the game even through the massive amounts of lag, fps drops, and countless bugs, and performance issues that the games has currently. With that being said I understand what I've bought and that this is an EA title. That doesn't give you the right to shit on your player base without suffering the consequences. Dear Grapeshot, I honestly expected more from you guys, even with your dodgy reputation around the internet. If you think you are going to survive long with this type of attitude, then you are going to hit the ground soon, and very hard. Yours truly, A fan of the game. [link] [comments]

Posted: 16 May 2019 10:24 AM PDT This most recent exploit is a pvp game breaker and the devs seem to not understand how important it really is. The problem is no matter what they do we all lose. This game is a scam and it has been from the get-go. Even in grids with ~30 players the ping jumps to 200+ when anything fun starts happening. How the fuck was this ever going to handle 40k. Its such a bullshit game, and yet in the next patch we get some fun new dinosaurs! Just what we want in our pirate game. Fuck Grape Shot for their mentally challenged game. The next patch should be a MASSIVE stability improvement, instead we get some stupid dinos that no one will use. Lets face it, the game will always suck when you have devs busy designing new dinosaurs instead of fixing how pvp fucks the server ping. Also devs who only watch DarksideRP and think of their officials as some reject child that doesn't deserve to eat at the same table. [link] [comments]

Guillotine Glitch - Jat, Please comment. Posted: 15 May 2019 01:13 PM PDT This glitch in essence is allowing people to make 100% bonus sails/cannons, Rendering other company that are not glitching useless against that kind of power, this also transfers to siege with cannon carts and other items of use. This needs to be culled, The characters should be deleted and all items created by them needs to be deleted. It is either that, or another wipe. But another wipe this early would put a nail in the coffin for the game. I am not here to complain, but to make the suggestion and try to get a message to the public from DEV team about what is going to happen. ATM it is ridiculous, and very tempting for many company members to go and do the exploit themselves just to catch up to the company's abusing it. [link] [comments]

Ark Refugee looking for Answers on Server Hosting Posted: 16 May 2019 12:52 PM PDT Ahoy mateys! I am an old server manager for some unofficial Ark servers that I have been running for a few years now. A good portion of my player base has moved onto this game and I was looking into setting up an island for them on the same rig that ran all the Ark servers, because there is so much space for it. In the other game there was a "server manager" program that I used that was pretty simple and set up all the islands almost automatically. I was just wondering if any kind of program was made for this game as well? I know it's beta, so I may be asking a lot, but figured I'd come here first since reddit subs are where the most devout seem to hang out. If there's no Server Manager Program yet, could you please direct me to the best directions for manually setting one up? I have an entire rig dedicated to JUST hosting game servers, mostly Ark, but I've ran Conan and Minecraft servers as well when they were used. I'm assuming this is along the same lines as setting those up. Also curious if anyone has a similar set up and if they ran into any complications when running both Ark and Atlas servers on the same machine. Thanks for any assistance, and good luck on your booty hunts, ya buncha skallywags! Yar! [link] [comments]
I think I will start taking up Exploiting and Cheating Posted: 16 May 2019 12:31 PM PDT Does anyone want to make a cheating company? It seems if we cheat for 2 months then stop, the devs wont respond in time for it to matter. We can all make alt account, and that way we just play on a diff account when we take our 2 week break we can play on another account. Worst that can happen is they will wipe the servers, so either way as cheaters we can win! Whos in ? [link] [comments]

Posted: 16 May 2019 01:26 AM PDT IIRC, before the wipe your sextant would show you map markers. Has this feature been removed or is there a key to activate it that I haven't found? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 May 2019 01:59 PM PDT So I was thinking (I know that can be dangerous) and it dawned on me that we need manual bilge pumps. Fuck buckets. Our forges have bellows on them, so the technology is there. Some sort of pump that could attach on or below the bottom deck and a lever to activate it. You would have to keep pulling the lever for it to keep pumping. JAT MAKE IT HAPPEN CAPN. [link] [comments]
