    EXPLOREATLAS: - SINGLE PLAYER CAPEABILITIES

    Posted: 29 Jun 2019 08:32 AM PDT

    Happy Saturday everyone!

An update from the Dev team here at exploreatlas.co.uk

If you use the official JSON for the singleplayer to bring in all 225 regions; you can use the website as you would on any of the 4 official servers. The only difference may be to do with what resources lay in the FREEPORT areas. So please bare that in mind.

With the recent updates allowing more people to explore JSONs; we will soon be releasing a new feature that will allow users to upload a .JSON onto the website and that will then import the Singleplayer of Unofficial server grid (And predefine Create & Resource spawns). This should create a convenient and easy way for you to explore.

We're in the testing phases so this may still take a week or two longer. But we're confident that you guys will love this.

We have also made updates to the PVE point calculator which now displays correctly the new MIN & MAX points. You can check this out here - https://exploreatlas.co.uk/calculators/points

And don't forget you can also use our taming and imprint calculators here - https://exploreatlas.co.uk/calculators/animals

    Happy exploring!

    Dear Devs

Anyone that takes an honest look at this game will tell you that it is dead and the burnout factor is real! NA PvP is literally losing players by the day. A majority of your grids/servers lag to holy fkn hell and feels more like a slideshow than a video game. I understand fully that we are in the alpha stages and a lot of things are being fixed, broken, or overlooked in the interest of tames and things the game doesn't need, but you guys need to seriously apply yourselves to methods that keep people playing, or this game will never come back.

Myself and many of my company mates are absolutely turned off by the grinding nature of the game. Below are a few things I would like to suggest and or discuss...

    • Change all gather rates to 2x and operate on a 3 month wipe cycle. If Rust has taught us anything, the frequent refresh keeps people coming back. The game is currently dead because these huge companies have the good BP's, have the defended bases, ships, tames etc. and there's no longer any excitement in the game outside of some shoddy PvP.

    • %100 no more freaking tames. This needs no further explanation...that's an Ark thing, and while we share a ton of similarities, lets try and distance ourselves a bit.

    • Optimize, optimize, optimize...Seriously, you advertised this as a 40k player MMO, and even though the official grid can't even hold that many, a single server craps itself if it sees more than 10-15 ships.

    • Smaller max company sizes. Most of these large companies are established and are pretty intimidating for new people or smaller groups that are new to Atlas. I have literally bought the game for a few friends who didn't want to play because they saw how far behind they were. There's no need to have a 75 player cap. I think 30 is a pretty fair number..

    • Come up with another method through quests or something of that nature to get people exploring and moving around the map. The resource type system for BPs is stupid. And when I say stupid, I mean StOoPId. Wood is wood whether it's aged, soft, or wet!

    • Strike a better balance with the combat phase. 9 hours is a long time to ask a small company to commit to being online to potentially defend, and everyone hates an offline raider...Maybe leave the island open to combat for 4-5 hours at the most and put more of an emphasis on war declarations by halving the cost.

    • Breeding...is...ridiculous...especially the carnivores. One meat lasts for 20 minutes in a trough...nobody wants to have to tell mom you gotta leave the family get together to feed and imprint on your tigers...While there are big benefits to breeding as opposed to taming, I need to be able to breed and have a life outside of the game, so lets maybe double the spoil time of meat in a trough and add some flexibility to the imprinting system..

    • We need a ship between the brig and the gally...the jump is insane...

These are some of the glaring issues in the game in my mind and my suggestions to accompany them. I think a healthy discussion and devs willing to consider them with an open mind is crucial to the survival of Atlas. I enjoy the crap out of this game for the most part, but am quickly reaching a tipping point and running out of patience. At the time of making this post there are 500 people on your official PvP network....the network that is "built for 40k." Your game is in a rough state right now and you guys need to start making some more effective changes or this may go down as the single greatest flop of a game in the history of games....lets discuss!

What if, now hear me out.... The devs gift atlas to everyone who owns ARK before the next wipe to spark new interest. Then keep Atlas and Ark in a bundle on the steam store.

Some of you may say "but I paid for this and they get it for free?" But think of it like this would you rather pay for a game with no players and not getting new ones or pay for a game they is continually getting new players even if they are getting a better deal on it.
