| Why aren't captureable, NPC pirate ships a thing? Posted: 11 Jul 2019 09:45 PM PDT Rather than having annoying SotD, and how menacing they SHOULD look except they're literally everywhere, there should be pirate ships controlled by NPC pirate enemies out at sea. Obviously you can sink them, or you can board their ship, kill all the enemies (or maybe kill enough that they surrender and become your prisoners/crew) and take the ship. This would be great for everyone to have another way to get ships, besides the monotony of hitting trees for hours, and this could also introduce unique ship types that maybe aren't craftable but instead must be captured. PvP as-is doesn't lend well to boarding/capturing player ships since sinking it is easier and quicker, and PvE could really benefit from this true pirate action you would miss out on completely unless you play PvP.
