Narrowing the Power Gap: A Simple Proposal Posted: 18 Jul 2019 10:31 AM PDT This is less of a real idea and more to get the gears turning: picture if you will.... All the world contains only 1 type of each material. Everywhere you go has strongwood, copper, fronds, granite, cotton, etc. There is a 2nd type of each material which comes only from golden age ruins. There are only 2 types of blueprints: Commons, which are fixed 110% improvement and work just like commons today, and Fines, which are fixed 120% improvement and requires that 2nd material. To obtain Fine blueprints you need to generally kill SOTD level 30+ and do the better quality maps.
I would also put the level cap back down to 50 but leave discovery points as-is. Getting to max level should not be a chore and the advantages of being there vs halfway there should not be huge. Those of us arguing for this still do see value in creating a source of PvE conflict and something to strive for. That thing does not have to be hundreds of hours of absolute bullshit gameplay, though, nor result in an absolutely huge power gap. [link] [comments] | ||

Those asking for less grind and power gap Posted: 18 Jul 2019 04:40 AM PDT You know there's a pirate game already out there like this right? There's little grind, aside from map farming, lots of PvP, no taming, no huge power gap/creep, and your ships are safe when you log out. The game is called Sea of Thieves. Maybe some of you have not heard of this game yet which is why I mention it.. not even in a trolling way. But to remove that power gap in Atlas entirely you're literally just asking for Sea of Thieves so why not just play that game? It even has millions of active players, unlike Atlas's pathetic sub 3000, so they must be doing something right. [link] [comments] |
