i'm done with this game (for obvious reasons)

disclaimer: this is not just me rambling on about what i dislike about the game etc i will also include solutions for nearly all issues i list. i have been playing the game since release, i preordered it and in my opinion the state of the game now is almost as bad as at THE DAY OF RELEASE if not worse. at release it was a laggy und buggy mess. which was an issue that could have been avoided but what makes the game now worse compared to release? on release it had issues which where more or less "accidental" issues which made the game bad for everyone, as the game is right now the game is INTENTIONALLY pitched AGAINST NEW and SOLO players. most of the issues i will list are an INTENTIONAL design DECISION. in other words: its an issue of stupidity versus maliciousness. the later is definitly worse in my opinion, but enough rambling:

    1. the gold cost for ships is beyond ridiculous ESPECIALLY for solo player
1.1 there is a simple fix for this problem: make it so you can have one ship of each category (schooner, brigantine, galleon) WITHOUT having to pay any gold for it, but if you want to build a schooner when you already have one THEN it costs gold aswell so even a solo player can have a schooner, brigantine and a galleon without paying any gold for the ship itself but BEYOND that it costs gold. i dont know what the intention was for the gold cost on ships maybe it was to make it so there arent infinite ships scattered everywhere in which case this solution still holds merit WITHOUT punishing smaller companies/ solo players
    2. when you finally manage to get a bigger ship as a solo player sooner rather then later you will inevitably run into a larger quantity of SotD while crossing a border, you will be virtually paralyzed for up to a minute or two while the new grid is loading in, by the time you are able to respond you are already sinking and you MAY outrun them if you are very lucky but you wont make it to an island to repair the ship you just spend hours upon hours to get in the first place
2.2 once again a fairly easy solution: either make it so that SotD are only agressive towards brigantine and upwards OR give the player a sort of "spawn protection" uppon crossing grid borders, it SHOULDNT make the player INVINCIBLE but it should make them INVISIBLE (to SotD) for up to 10 minutes based on the type of ship they are on, the lower the ship the longer the grace period (for example: 10 minutes for a sloop, 8 minutes for a schooner, 5 minutes for a brigantine and 1 minute for a galleon) if the player takes any form of action against a SotD i.e shooting (and hitting it) this spawn protection is removed. losing your stuff for things that are entirely out of your controll SUCK ESPECIALLY when getting those things where already a massive grind in the first place
    3. the automated structures are a nice addition but for newer players beyond useless because they will rarely find a spot to actually place them.
3.1 change it so that the automated structures dont interact with automated structures from other people of a different company. this would mean that you still cant put a mine right next to a lumbermill but you have no issue putting a mine next to a lumber mill from a different player. there is no real reason why you shouldnt be able to put them next to similiar structures of other players. with the system as it is now small to medium islands have room for 3-10 automated structures across the board so you will rarely find a spot to place even a single one of your automated structures anywhere without traveling across the map and litterally scouting every island you come across top to bottom for a spot where you can place it

3.2 alternative solution: change it so that ANYONE can interract with the automated structures but they have a sort of personal inventory (similiar to ender chests from minecraft) where every player or more specifically every company has a unique inventory so when i walk up to a mine placed by someone else it will be empty for me, but i can put in fuel and get resources in it, which only i can pick up. you could even make it so that the person putting the structure down gets a bonus for it for example he could get 10% of the resources gathered by other people as compensation for him placing the structure

How to get gold on PvE server?

    Posted: 19 Aug 2021 10:21 PM PDT

A couple friends from work and I started playing recently after getting bored of Sea of Thieves, and we're struggling to make any gold. We found a handful of green treasure maps, someone was nice enough to give us a bear, and off we went. After 8 hours of sailing around spread across several days doing treasure maps, we're at... 1500 gold. At this rate it's going to take us a month to get enough gold for a schooner, and that seems a little absurd? Especially since I'm sure the first time we try and take it into a fight we're going to get blown up.

What are we supposed to be doing to make enough money to build some combat ships?

    Keep getting removed from clan/company

    Posted: 19 Aug 2021 05:29 PM PDT

Hi I keep getting removed from my company every time I leave the server and all my stuff is still under the company ownership but I'm not in it I'm the only member and leader and it seems to happen across two different servers a private server I own and another my friend owns.
