Why on god's green earth would you nerf the only animal that makes transferring less tedious.

If your going to nerf the only good animal for carrying weight revamp the cargo saddle.

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 06:12 AM PST

The thing is kinda dumb as it is anyhow, its labeled a cargo harness but can only fit a cannon to it. I was thinking it should act as one movable foundation, let us place storage or a resource box on it. As of right now its 90% useless, plus with them nerfing tames so hand harvesting is the only option it would be nice to have a pack mule. I wouldnt mind the weight change if they just fixed the damn cart.

They changed the elephants to give you guys something new to be angry about, look how quick everyone forgot about Black Butterfly. History repeating itself.

    Atlas Patch V.15

Removed Elephant having weight reduction for Wood

    Posted: 18 Jan 2019 10:09 PM PST

I have lost all faith in you as a developer.

You needed to make Rhinos and other tames have weight reductions for the things they harvest, not go the complete opposite direction and make Elephants as useless as Rhinos are.

This doesn't make ANY sense. Make harvest less tedious, not more. JFC.

Jat said it takes 200+ upvotes to let the Atlas team know "maybe this is something they have to deal with sooner than later". Well here's the thread in regards to Black Butterflies hacking. We want justice!

WTF IS THIS FROM PATCH NOTES -- REMOVED ELEPHANT HAVING WEIGHT REDUCTION FOR WOOD.

    Posted: 18 Jan 2019 10:15 PM PST

are they really doing that , so now we officially know that resource gathering tames are not meant for resource gathering , as with no weight reduction they are no better at it then we are manually ,

are these devs really not playing their own game ?

These Devs must think hauling wood back and forth 50 times is great game play

    Posted: 18 Jan 2019 11:37 PM PST

Might as well nerf the bears carry weight next?? Do you guys even play your own game?

Taming 3 or riding 3, heck the entire taming tree is becoming entirely useless.

Also they added alpha dolphins, because that's what we have been demanding, MORE ALPHAS!

not a fan of Forcing players to do fountain of youth when there is a overspawning issue in power stone islands.

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 10:58 AM PST

Not a fan of forcing players to do the fountain of youth quest, when you still have a over spawning of creatures on the power stone islands, which prob won't have a fix till you redesign the way creatures spawn, massive overspawning of cyclops, warriors of the damn and elementals.
So why am i forced to have a debuff and forced to try to do an island when you can't even go in them without running at 5 fps. ( also should have reset every player age to 20 )

Fountain of Youth makes it 100% clear GS has no idea what their servers look like.

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 11:26 AM PST

This feature is being met with pretty rave reviews at first glance. I can only assume those people haven't been to a powerstone island.

The implementation of this is awful. For some insight on why, for those of you who haven't done the powerstone runs, or who haven't been to powerstone islands, let me take you through it. Spoilers ahead.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/playatlas/comments/agwfxu/um_guys_i_think_the_spawn_is_broken/

I posted this a couple days ago. This is powerstone island D12. This is what all of the powerstone islands look like since launch, each with their mythical creatures. Some are Cyclops and Ragnaroses etc. The caves on 5 out of 8 of the powerstone islands are utterly inaccessible due to the fucked up spawn on each of them. You think wolves and lions are bad on your island? Well on powerstone island the levels of them are multiplied by 5, they don't attack anything but players, and they cant friendly fire other wildlife. They actually made them work that way on powerstone islands. It's tremendous.

How do you do this content then, you're asking? Well, you take a shitty boat there with a couple beds, and you run naked through it over and over and over again until you're lucky enough to make it through the cave. It will either be a complete joke, as is the case with about half of them, or it will be the single most frustrating gaming experience of your entire life. This is endgame content we're talking about, and the best and only feasible way to do it is with a ramshackle sloop and completely naked.

So what does grapeshot do? They implement yet another feature that makes you go into the powerstone caves. Instead of, you know, working on fixing the spawning of everything on powerstone islands, and cleaning up the current clusterfuck on each one. This is yet another example of Grapeshot turning quantity up to 11, and leaving quality -255.

Yeah we know, early access etc.

"Day 791, 11:35:23: Your (Brigantine) was Destroyed!" is NOT enough information!

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 07:23 AM PST

I am a solo player who has been playing since minute one. I have built and lost 3 full outfitted Brigantines, 2 Schooners and 5 Sloops all in the 4 hours I am offline, most recently being last night. All ships were anchored in lawless zones and fully repaired as I always repair my ships before logging off. When I logged in, I was dead in the middle of the ocean no where near where my ship was when I logged of and all the company log says is "your brigantine was destroyed!" How the hell am I supposed to improve and protect my ships better if I have no idea how they are getting destroyed? And now the elephant carry weight is getting nerfed so it'll take forever to gather more wood for another ship. Fucking sigh.

Double harvest rate weekends are utterly pointless

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 07:38 AM PST

The double harvest weekend is pointless. Harvesting resources isn't the time sink in the gathering component of this game, it's transporting the resources.

Doubling the rates, won't double how fast you're effectively gathering resources. We'll just fill up on half a metal node now instead of a single one.

With events like this to have a meaningful benefit, player / creature carry weight needs to be doubled across the board for the duration of the event, or weight on everything needs to be halved.

If the elephant gets nerfed, change the cargo wagon.

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 10:40 AM PST

If you're going to nerf the only good tame in this game atleast redo the cargo wagon. Make it where you can put a chest on it that gives 50% weight reduction to any mat in there and BOOM, DONE. EVERYONE HAPPY. Keep the ele with the nerf if you must, just give us the cargo saddle!

Your previous game had way too much grind , no need to make this one like that. ( Balance to weight )

    Posted: 19 Jan 2019 11:23 AM PST

There needs to be some balance fixes to carry weight, some stuff weight a bit much, and a lot of animals do not have weight reducing stats, so you can't even use them to transport.
also need a recipe that increases your weight.
Your perspective on balance changes need to change as well, you tend to make changes that increase the grind a bit much for players, which is frustrating.
