Is there any way to tame a crab without a submarine? Our company is very small and have been playing like that for quite a while because it just suits are playstyle. I've seen some posts that you are able to tame one without a sub, but not much detail into it, has someone actually done it and is it even possible? How?

I'm not sure exactly what it'd be called in the server settings but is there a way to change the server's durability reduction rate when it's used?

How is this game still so buggy years after release? [a new players perspective]

I like many avoided the game when it launched due to the awful reviews but when it came up in the spring sale for £9 on steam i couldn't resist as i always found the premise so interesting and compelling.

but after playing for around 12 hours the last few days i am ASTOUNDED by how awful the gamestate is considering how long the development team has had to fix it.

to list a few bugs i have encountered (bear in mind this is hosting a non dedicated server for myself and 2 friends)

ship ladder clipped into sand get on and now you are stuck in sand, retract ladder does not fix nor does moving ship only way to fix is to eventually drown.
ship apparently "did not follow" us to a new grid despite us standing on it resulting in both ship bed and items onboard being lost when attempting to respawn.
countless other clipping issues meaning character often gets stuck.
tames randomly dying/coming back to life.
treasure maps not spawning dammed pirates to attack.
treasure maps stating that their is still some guardians left to defeat despite killing them all and making sure not to move them too far away from the spot.
invisible pirates on swivel guns at camps that instakill you when you expose an inch of your body.
if two people select the same respawn point at once the hosts game softlocks (this is easily avoided but also should not be an issue)
my offline friends are "sleeping" about 4ft below my feet at all times normally they are invisible but sometimes i can see all 3 of them piled up under me when swimming.
these "sleeping" offline friends can somehow take damage when i do causing them to die and their inventory to be lost unless i find their body and empty it.
many crashes to desktop with useless streams of error text.
getting stuck on ladders needing restart.
map getting stuck in camera mode needing restart to fix.

the developers should be absolutely ashamed. ark asset flip issues aside, a game should NEVER be this broken so long after launch.

when this game works and i'm sailing though huge waves with my friends it works so well.

But i am beginning to think the payoff for having to deal with all these bugs (bear in mind these are just the ones i have encountered within the first 12 hours.)

any suggestions for alternatives?

I have blackwake/raft and have heard many things about sea of thieves but the lack of persistant ships puts me off.
