PETITION: Remove inactive sleepers on PvE Servers Posted: 25 Jan 2019 07:44 AM PST Hi guys, So me and a friend sailed over 6 TROPIC biome grids, scouted every single island and we managed to grab 1 circle of land in E6, but that's not the point. The point is that the game feels incredibly dead(when it's not) because on all those islands, we could put a claim flag(there was no timer) but we couldn't get the land due to sleepers being inside houses contesting us, these people haven't logged for a week+ and have multiple sleepers that don't allow new/active players to play the game in biomes other than polar. So basically the whole island is offline for so much time but it is not possible to claim even 1 bit of land, all these islands just go to waste! Amazing! Is this intended? To only have a limited amount of players be able to claim land once and then AFK for months on the PvE servers? Don't get me wrong, we have a blast in this game despite all that's going on. This is a petition to remove inactive sleepers from the PvE servers or AT LEAST add a 10-20 day decay, give us a way to get rid of them if they've been inactive for so long; if you agree, upvote, if you disagree, provide your arguments, all opinions are much appreciated and welcome! A thank you from an Ark: Survival evolved player to the players of Atlas... Posted: 25 Jan 2019 09:26 AM PST Recently, Ark: Survival Evolved just got its first actual substantial update that was made in effort to fix the game. And I just wanted to say thank god you guys took all the shitty devs from Ark. All that's left are developers who don't have "Brilliant" midnight ideas or micromanage every single decision. When Jeremy left Ark to work on Atlas he took all of his Friend-hires with him. Which has been such a boon to Ark and the difference is so noticeable it's not even funny. Atlas is the best thing that's happened to Ark in a long time so once again, thank you! [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Jan 2019 01:06 AM PST i live on a 2x harvest unofficial server. yesterday i made 10k paste. with a 5x5 mortar and pestle grid. if i have to do that again as it is now, i get NUTS, i tell you! NUTS! please let sap stack at 500 like wood, stone, paste, alsmost EVERYTHING else... there is NO reason not to do so. PLEASE... [link] [comments]
Petition to remove current mods and get mods that actually care about the game. Posted: 25 Jan 2019 10:53 AM PST Think we can all agree that this recent censorship is bullshit and this sub needs mods that actually play the game and follow what's going on. Mods that aren't going to just be puppets to Grapeshot and delete threads pointing out problems so they can ignore glaring issues in their game. [link] [comments]

The Dragon is extremely over powered and does not belong in the game Posted: 25 Jan 2019 04:52 AM PST The Dragon, 20k gold, which can be farmed quite easily in matter of a few hours for a normal sized tribe. Once tamed it has 150k Health and takes almost no damage from every source, sinking every boat like they're made of paper. The worst part about it, beastmastery traits can buff and heal the dragon. A lot of people left Ark because of the Titans infestation dropping bases within minutes, please don't ruin your game with another overly tuned tame.... Dragon needs to be nerfed to a normal creatures level, don't ruin Atlas with god tame creatures tipping the scales completely to one side, focus more on Boat/foot pvp over tames being even viable (should only be used for PvE and farming) [link] [comments]
Stone structeres need oraganic paste Posted: 25 Jan 2019 07:24 AM PST WTF , are u kidding me ? Organic paste for stone structures? REALLY ? Wildcard u just lost tons of players with ur last patch [link] [comments]
Did the Chinese wipe you out with the stone nerf patch? Posted: 25 Jan 2019 10:31 AM PST Post here if the Chinese wiped you out due to the stone nerf patch. Literally, the patch was released right before Chinese primetime, and they used it to great effect knocking a number of top 10 companies off the list overnight, and adding hacker crews like Black Butterfly to top 10. My crew had held our ground against the Chinese for the past month, but within two days of this patch they've wiped our structures out nearly completely and starting taking our few claims we had left. Grapeshot - If you want to make the stick longer, please also make the carrot bigger. Posted: 24 Jan 2019 08:32 PM PST In Conan Exiles, whenever I wanted to make a player or a clan that I didn't like quit the game, I would be SUPER friendly and helpful and give them everything they could ever want; legendary weapons, help them see all the content, find the journals and story elements, unique thralls, donate buildings and materials and all that. I would reduce the time it would take them to get to the endgame and burn out, drastically. In a few short weeks, they'd be bored and quit and I'd demolish their base, get my stuff back, and not have to deal with them any longer. I shortened their stick, and made the carrot huge - it was an imbalance designed to remove players from the game; to eliminate longevity. If you desire to balance your game, and increase our longevity, then surely changes that make things take longer, and become more difficult, are necessary -- like the changes to stone building blocks. Ok, that's fine, even if we don't like your changes initially it will become business-as-usual and players will adjust to the new difficulty baseline. The problem, though, it when the carrot on the stick we're chasing isn't worth the effort to chase after. Please, reduce the difficulty of a goal, such as taming a creature, soloing treasure mobs (looking at you Warriors of the Damned), building stone buildings, building ships, etc. while keeping the result of achieving those goals where they're at, or make those things harder to reach but make them better when we reach them: better BP's from treasure (where's the hatchet BP at?), stronger tames and/or breeds, higher performing ships and/or increasing variety of ships, stronger building blocks, etc. If you give us too much, yeah, we'll get bored and leave. If you don't give us enough, we'll get frustrated and leave. You probably know this. I don't believe you ever desire players to vacate your game, but I do feel as if the carrot needs adjustment relative to the longer stick you've placed in front of us. Atlas is fun though, so far, and I don't want to get burned out, bored, or frustrated. Tornados need toned down or revamped (super rare, actually dangerous), alpha's need removed or revamped so players can deal with them effectively or need not deal with them at all, temperature effects need adjustment so that I don't have to have 120 fortitude to avoid freezing in a Temperate zone that somehow reaches -50 F and yet doesn't snow or allow safety in a warm ocean (because massive bodies of water take a long, long time to heat or cool), stone buildings are supposed to be able to withstand that scary Big Bad Wolf, y'know? Thanks again, I hope you read and consider my perspective, and I look forward to seeing the more rewarding gameplay driven by complex yet intuitive methods. [link] [comments]

For the 3rd day in a row CSTG is DDOSing the server anytime we attack. Posted: 25 Jan 2019 12:14 AM PST This is honestly becoming unbearable. Live at www.twitch.tv/cocoslat if you wanna watch it happen live. Probably will only try for a hour or so it's becoming unbearable. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jan 2019 11:46 PM PST I dont have a problem with stone buildings costing more resources, the problem is how vulnerable and easy to destroy they are now. A lot of people I polar and tundra are making a lot of noise about having to ship saps but that's something they had to do anyways. I live in tundra btw and its not that hard to ship saps, but all this noise people are making on the cost is going to distract on the actual problem which is how much weaker they are. That's what they need to fix. [link] [comments]

Devs, please stop beating around the bush and address the core problem Posted: 24 Jan 2019 03:02 PM PST First of all let's acknowledge this game has a problem: it used to peak at 50k concurrent players now it's around 18-20k. And the problem goes beyond the last patch. I'm pretty sure this stone nerf is implemented just because you want to reduce the amount of structures there are in servers, because servers started being laggy. Although the end goal makes sense, the way to do it is wrong. You are basically making it harder for certain islands to defend while giving other islands the advantage. That won't solve the problem. When you allowed unlimited alliances and up to 500 members per company, you should've seen this coming. You should've seen a crazy amount of ships being built and concentrated in the same area, and a crazy amount of structures too... When you conceptualized this game, you had the concept of mega companies ruling the islands and setting up taxation etc... That concept itself was wrong from the start. Not only it is now affecting your server performance, but the mega alliances are driving away players. The game can't even support large scale naval pvp (it turns into a lag shitfest when you have something like 7v7) I know people playing in mega companies will downvote this post. But I think you should consider more the longevity of this game. Do you want this game to keep losing players on a daily basis to the point you're the only people playing? My suggestion is: make this game less about mega companies/alliances/hugboxes and more about medium-sized groups of pirates who sail around, pvp and explore. Reduce the cap from 500 to 100. If you want to make stone gates more expensive, make them more expensive in stone, not resources that not everyone can find in their island. Limit alliances. Disable the ability to be in multiple alliances at once. When you get rid of these mega hugboxes, there will be more pvp around. And more structures/ships will be destroyed on a daily basis. But then, this must also come with a certain mechanic for ship protection while offline (could cost gold or anything). It's easy to say "oh this game is meant for mega companies with 20+ members at all times". But that concept is clearly failing. And it'll keep failing until the game dies out. It's time for an overhaul. And unfortunately it may also require a wipe in the near future. But before you even consider a wipe, make it worth: completely revamp the game in a better direction. Again, to the mega alliances fanboys, before you downvote this, think about the future of this game. The game won't be any less fun, if you play in a medium-sized group with less lag. Halp! Having issues crafting in inventory. Posted: 25 Jan 2019 09:44 AM PST Logged on this morning to do some grinding and building. Got the mats together and now can't craft in inventory. Can craft in smithy. I have closed the client to see if it was just my client. I looked at official site, Twitter, and reddit and it seems that I am the only one who is having this problem. Any ideas? [link] [comments]

Hey Grapeshot, Can you make it so that we can tax our own company? Posted: 24 Jan 2019 05:38 PM PST I would really like to tax our own company members like you can tax others. In Eve, taxes affected your own people and it allowed for the ability for guilds to provide a lot of ships and stuff for their members. The same would be nice for ATLAS. Being able to tax company members would allow for most companies to be able to provide for their members and reduce the needs to resource constantly. EDIT: Official Forum request as well, please help support this feature requesthttps://www.playatlas.com/index.php?/forums/topic/39465-allow-for-a-tax-on-company-members/ [link] [comments]
Chairs are death traps - need that to be fixed. Posted: 25 Jan 2019 08:08 AM PST Disconnecting in a chair should not get you stuck in the floor. Please fix this! I hate re-logging on, then waiting to die for 20 to 30 minutes just to get back into what i was doing. [Edit spelling] [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Jan 2019 04:16 AM PST I didn't knew that was possible with companies, but apparently somehow 2 companies can have the exact same name in game. Yesterday someone told us that we(Bad company) were raiding in E11 EU PVP, which wasn't true, so we spoke with this people and they sent us this: Which apparently are 2 members with "Bad Company" tag, so I looked for this people and found their steam profiles, they are 2 Russian players who have spent almost 300 hours and 127 respectively playing on E11, funny thing is that the only spawn we had there is an abandoned sloop, which we just destroyed. And if you check their names they're still playing there, none of them is on our company list nor discord so how is this even possible ? I mean it's not cool to have impersonating us and creating conflict that we don't want which they already have. [link] [comments]
An EVE: Online players perspective of Atlas. Posted: 24 Jan 2019 01:51 PM PST First and foremost. For the early access and bugs that we have, the baseline game is wonderful. The concept is fantastic (haven't had this much fun in a long time). Things for Devs to work on for base game: Little things, really, that'll get hammered out I'm sure in patches and updates. Server stability. The greatest thing about Eve and their platform is the fact that you can literally pack 5000+ players onto a singular server and grid, and the game doesn't crash. Granted there's TIDI to help with that and other things, but their server stability is fantastic. I have noticed that in Atlas, some grid squares are a little more laggy than others, and so on and so forth. Server stability alone should be your #1 focus. Updates. While we appreciate your enthusiasm for pushing updates and patches and trying to fix the game, please try not to make yourselves look like fools by pushing updates at random times and then pushing back the actual release times 3 hours every 10 minutes. Schedule a daily downtime (another thing Eve does fantastically) to push updates, restart servers, all that jazz. Player admins. Don't do it. If they're not a dev or part of the development team in the office with you, take away admin rights. It's toxic to the game, and the player base. With great power comes great responsibility, and also that it corrupts. I don't blame the admins themselves for abusing the power they have to take advantage of it at all. If I had the power to change my surroundings, spawn rates, and everything else to help me and my mates out, you're damn right I would. Who wouldn't? But because of that, half your issues are coming from them. Remove their power unless they're on the payroll to be a dev. And then, hold them to a higher standard to not abuse said power. Balancing issues. Don't listen to the people who complain about balance issues. It seems extremely balanced. They're just lazy or too unimaginative to be able to defend against them. If you build it, defend it. That was a harsh lesson in Eve. I've seen small groups rise to the top because of it, and also have seen large groups crumble to ashes because they built grand empires and couldn't defend it. Learn, adapt, overcome. Overall. Keep up the good work and I'm excited to see what direction this title goes in. Myself and my group of players are having a fantastic time playing the game and seeing the depth of everything has to offer. Being previous MMO game players (Eve) we quickly adapted to knowing how to work together to build towards a dream, and do it responsibly. I urge the player base to stop being crybaby neckbeard carebears, and learn how to work together, adapt, and overcome. This game has incredible potential and I can't wait for the future. o7 [link] [comments] |
