What is the new player experience like nowadays? Posted: 10 Dec 2020 01:11 PM PST I tried playing this game during it's initial launch fiasco and obviously that didn't go well, I'm sure the game is in a much better spot now. If I were to jump in fresh, what can I expect? Also some other questions: 1) When this game was first coming out I recall there was a lot of discussion playing on the main servers versus private ones. Some people were afraid this would split up the population, etc. What ever ended up happening with that? Where do most people play? 2) Are there any more wipes due for the game in the future? 3) Is there any kind of protection for your stuff when you're offline and not playing? Like in a similar game I used to play, Life is Feudal, the stuff you bank on land you own is safe when you're not playing. But there were designated times for example when people could make declarations against you and your land/items. [link] [comments] |
PVE might just kill this game for me. Posted: 10 Dec 2020 12:18 PM PST My crew and I (3 people total) were having a good time playing this game, but quickly discovered with the new updates, and our limited schedules, ship building was gonna require a bit of settling before we could really get into it. So we settled on an island that claims settlers were welcome, but we should check with the owners first. After a few attempts to try, in local chat (no other info provided) we heard nothing, so started building because we needed a place to build up stores for our schooner (5k gold, really?) Cut to today, and I log on, and without warning, or notice my entire base is gone. I can't find anyone on the island to talk to and hours of my time is gone not just in the building, but the materials and crafting stations placed. I'm furious that an islands so called owner can just delete your whole base like this, without any warning! Its like this game is trying to get me to stop playing it... [link] [comments] |
