Enjoying my time on official PvE Posted: 21 Feb 2019 11:45 PM PST I've been playing Atlas since launch. I dabbled on PvP but, not having really played much of this style of survivor game, and getting sick of being flame arrowed to death, decided that I would learn the mechanics on PvE (EU) - and there I've stayed. My wife and I play as a two person company but have I've recently been mostly soloing while she's busy. At level 48 I've just started properly doing treasure maps and crafting journeyman gear from the BPs. I've also started to learn to farm. I'm based on a lawless where everyone is respectful with their builds and where people say "Hi" when they log on. The previous occupiers on the island have built elaborate walkways and placed signage to all the cool resources. I'm guessing there are a lot of Germans on this grid and the surrounding ones from some of the chat. On the next grid over (not lawless) some people (Germans again) helped me get to a difficult crystal location. This game is cool and everyone is super friendly. Reading all the griefing/cheating PvP posts, I feel like I'm playing a different game. Some of the issues do crossover, like: tames being attacked through walls; losing tames/crew at borders; losing a brigantine with no clear explanation in the logs; draw distance of assets around islands; army of the damned spawning under dwellings and unreachable; general performance issues. But the incremental performance and QOL improvements have been noticeable and welcome. Remember when crocs chased your sloop to the zone across the ocean? I guess I'll never know the joy of mounting an NPC on a carriage turret on a bear to help with treasure maps - damn, I wish I thought of that before that was nerfed. Based on other posts I know there is griefing on PvE with no recourse but I have yet to experience it. I do have thoughts on how to introduce PvP elements into the PvE world without ruining the spirit of PvE but I'll save that for another post. [link] [comments] | ||

On PvE, get rid of claims and make all islands work like lawless, but have longer demo times. Posted: 22 Feb 2019 07:35 AM PST Traveling arround on NA PvE I noticed that the lawless islands are the only places showing life. Lawless islands have many advantages. I am finding - The allow people that play to use the land, if you stop playing, people need your land they will remove your base. - Structures do not block spawns, so no worries about someone putting a small base too close to a critical spawn. - No taxes and appear to have faster respawn rate. Only disadvantanges are 4 day before they can be destroyed and many are foundation/pillar spammed. I suggest the following changes in PvE ONLY: - Remove all claim flags in PvE and allow no more to be placed, - Remove Banks or make them generic high stacking chests that can have items placed in. - Make so the demolish timer is increased for a structure based on how many connected structures there are with a cap of about 20 days (current claim limit), singular structures would be destroyabl quickly, but large buildings would have a full lifetime of a claim. Chests should have 2 week timers regardless. [link] [comments] | ||

I won't pretend to understand game development, but it doesn't seem like something that needs to be in a "Big" update. Frankly, it should have been a part of the game at launch. Possible new bug: Beds now showing up when being claim flagged against. Posted: 22 Feb 2019 02:26 AM PST I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this or not, but it would seem that when an enemy puts a claim flag against your guild's claim, it may be removing all beds in that entire server grid from showing up as spawn points for your guild. [NA/PVE] Help with Manging Claims Posted: 22 Feb 2019 09:25 AM PST Currently, my company has a claim of a small island and understanding the difficulty of finding your own land I opened one side of the island open to anyone to build. However, the people that have built on this land have not been around for over 3 weeks. I was wondering if there was a way to evict them? Destroy their structures and the dinghy they left behind... Posted: 22 Feb 2019 12:11 AM PST Suggestion 1 Create an option for Resource Chests, Smithys, Forges, ETC to enable capture Transfer/drop log where anything getting droped or transferred gets logged in the company log or a separate log Suggestion 2 Create 10 rank slots instead of 4 because there is 10 ranks as designed Suggestion 3 Set a flag command that sets every structure in it the circle of the flag to the rank desired for example setting rank 10 on flag would make every stone wall in the flag rank 10 Suggestion 4 Make Admins not be able to kick or promote / demote each other Suggestion 5 In the rank system aka the "Group management page" there should separate option to enable scuttling and enabling demolition of structures Suggestion 6 Set it to where if for example if PLAYER 1 places 20 walls there is perm where only PLAYER 1 can demo the walls he or she placed rather then being able to demo the whole companys structures in the "Group management page" Suggestion 7 This one is an iffy one which has pros and cons but making insiding ban able it is pretty hard to prove when someone silently drops all of your stuff and leaves but if Suggestion 1 was implemented which is one of the most important suggestions it would make presenting proof more viable. it is more of a semi suggestion insiding its is a part of every game will never truly be eliminated. Suggestion 8 Change it where breaking your own company boxes with a tool or weapon is not possible by a company member I understand stoping insiding will never happen but this will certainly slow it down [link] [comments] | ||

All of our temperate islands have theese bamboo stalk looking things, but they seem to be trees that ONLY give Softwood and Rushes. [link] [comments] |
