Having trouble finding whales

We have been searching for whales for two days and haven't found any so far. We are in the 13's and 14's but nothing so far. Is there some problem with spawning or are we just unlucky?

Ships disappearing?

Playing on NA PVE, and just got a message from one of my crew mates saying that one of his boats has disappeared. The log just says removed from company. Upon further checking, another guy is missing two more boats, but had a massive mutiny at his base as well. Is there a timer on boats where they must be sailed or spawned on or else they disappear?

So I have a company of about 5 we have been playing for about a month. We found a place to be a settler and have been base bitches for a few weeks. We feel like the base is in order enough now and I am wondering how do vets spend their time playing? It seems like it take so long to sail anyplace that roaming the sea is very tough as at some point you need to turn around a go home. So my question is how do you play? Like what do you do to avoid just building more stone walls?

Taming is so bad

So ark taming was shit. It sucked. But it's 100X better than atlas. I can build ships artillery whatever u want, but I can't tame these stupid ass animals. I can make multiple beds nearby, I can damage the animal, I can grow the crops for the animals favorite food, I can build a taming pen, but seriously wildcard using a bola every minute and getting hit constantly and getting bit by a snake and then losing all of my taming progress in 20 seconds is a freaking joke. Holy smokes its bad. It's boring, time consuming, and glitchy at best. Animals aren't even OP compared to ark but when u gotta seriously get hit almost every single time u go to feed the animal it's a joke. I know I ain't the only one. I'm ready to drop this freaking game over it. Fix your boring and stupid ass taming method. Or just give us the option to tranq them like ark.
