Jat you promised PVE would have destroy timers added to ships/rafts Posted: 29 Apr 2019 09:28 AM PDT Jat, you were very clear that there would be timers on abandoned ships/rafts in PVE. we have folks that bailed from PVE EU and went to the PVE NA and parked their ships right smack in the way. the decay timer is pretty much non existent and the ships/rafts never disappear, so we need even if it was a 21 day destroy timer on them. Come on man, you promised us, my clan is waiting on this. [link] [comments]
Crab Defense guide - what to expect Posted: 29 Apr 2019 03:38 AM PDT Their attack strategy: -They storm the beach with crabs on opposite island of your defenses and harbor. -Crabs jump super high. They will jump across your island and into your harbor and they will one shot all NPCs -once npcs are gone from towers and ships they will bring in the gallys to destroy stone structures -Once mortars, tames and ships are destroyed and they can move in closer to the main base. -They will deploy canon bears to take our your remaining base. -Once they breach the base they will make a final push to your resource box and smithy with a combo of grenades and canon bear attacks. -At this point of you have not already popcorned your stuff it will be theirs. The defense strategy: Crabs must be taken out immediatly. Ballistas do about 20% damage but the crabs will insta kill any npc or player that is on it. Guns do nothing. Crabs also move too fast to be able to shoot off the rider. If you man a mortar to kill their ships you will get grabbed off of it. Puckle guns do not do good damage but swivle canons do ok but they must be at close range. Not good since you will get insta killed. Crabs do good damage to wood but small damage to stone structures. Since they jump high they will easily get to the top of your towers as well. I have not tested grenades fire arrows or oil jars but those are all close range items so that poses a risk. A decent setup of inward facing ballista towers manned by stone protected npcs should help. You will want to have lots of spear bolts on hand. Also you will want total coverage for the inside of your harbor and base. They will find a weak point and they will exploit it. Also ballista bears with npcs perhaps fire canons or swivel canons may be affective but you have to move fast to avoid getting one hit killed by the crabs. Also their players will be shooting at you so beware. Make sure to have plenty of grenades on hand. If you can zurg the crabs with ballista/fire bears I think that would be optimal. Canons are too slow so dont bother. The best defense would be the above combined with your own crabs use puckles set to target humans and swivels and ballistas to target tames. Also these players dont seem all that smart. Yes they have no life so they can play for hours and hours but they seem to easily fall for tricks such as getting locked behind a door after you close it behind them while they are chasing you or chasing you with a crab which makes it easy to lure them where you want them so you can shoot them. Quite predictably really. Also they shout racist and derrogetory things into local voice chat so if you have kids around you may want to turn down the volume :I Hope this helps you all defend your stuff from the toxicity. Posted: 29 Apr 2019 09:30 AM PDT Title. It's not fun to sail, it's not fun to fight against. It's just a boring, anti-pvp build. 15 large cannons on your ass and run away. Sad. [link] [comments]
What is going on with Cooking? Posted: 29 Apr 2019 07:21 AM PDT Cooking is a really good idea to have in the game and it adds a fun thing for players like me. But What the hell were they thinking? So many farm-able crops have NO use. Also the recipes, why the hell does a spicy roll require meat instead of fish? Why is there not a specific dish involving each crop? Why don't those dishes have minor impacts that are beneficial in the environments that they can be found in? Cooking could be a good part of this game that helps deal with the vitamin issues. But its just boring, with too few options and not enough use from the crops. I've done a lot of cooking and I enjoy getting buffs and food that help my team, but most of the time, its honestly easier to die and respawn than worry about food. And to me that means this isn't a survival game anymore, because it literally encourages dying. [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Apr 2019 07:21 AM PDT I have a suggestion that would make the game a little more interesting. Make human NPCs spawn on islands similar to animals and be tamable. This would add to the excitement by making players do a double take each time they see a human (is that an enemy or an NPC?). It would also make it much easier to sneak up on a base. Also, I think we should have the ability to breed crew-members. Possibly even breed our characters with crew-members. [link] [comments]
Are improved speed sails broken? Posted: 29 Apr 2019 09:27 AM PDT Testing results in no difference with improved speed sails. [link] [comments]
Painting tame from template causes game to time out Posted: 29 Apr 2019 09:21 AM PDT Issue: when using a saved template to paint bear the game crashes to timed out from network. Reproduced over and over. Animation of painting works, paint is used, it seems to crash at the very end when it should complete. thanks [link] [comments]
How exactly does the new claim system work? Posted: 28 Apr 2019 09:58 PM PDT Forgive me for being ignorant but I can't seem to find any straight answer. I'm playing the game for the first time since launch and I'm wondering where I should be looking to stop. Should I choose an occupied island? One without an owner? Can I build wherever I want? Under what circumstances can they demolish my things if any? Can people randomly destroy your stuff or do they need to declare war? Again sorry if this has been answered there's just been so many iterations of the system I can't seem to find accurate info on it Thanks again [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2019 07:29 AM PDT Does anyone have any other publicly available sources for game information outside of the official wiki? Just looking for more sources of more information to learn and get gooder :D [link] [comments]
Now that islands have 16 hours of non-pvp time.. Posted: 29 Apr 2019 06:13 AM PDT Can we get rid of the reduced damage to anchored ships? Really stupid to be fighting someone, they drop anchor, and now have a huge buff. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2019 01:36 AM PDT Title basically, we're a 2 man company on EU PvE and would love to unlock the submarine but we can't find any company that does kraken runs, anyone tried it? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Whats the deal with the trench squid spawns Posted: 29 Apr 2019 01:20 AM PDT 2x weekend so I'm like sweet I'm gonna get some more crabs. Saturday afternoon around 1 or 2pm pacific i take off to start searching for squids. I've been to 4 different powerstone zones and camped 2 full days 10 hours plus and i have not seen a single squid this weekend. Now granted I've considered moving from zone to zone could cause me to miss spawns completely even though that would be pretty unlucky. I've now been sitting in H11 all by myself for over 3 hours and still not a single spawn. Does anyone have any more information regarding the spawn of these? Is it tied to other spawns in the zone like there are too many and the only way to start getting spawns is killing other shit or something? Just really confused at this point as I've not had any issue getting squids prior to this point. The amount of time ive spent in the last 2 days you'd think i'd at least have found a squid or 2... Posted: 28 Apr 2019 07:14 PM PDT Has the whale spawn rate been nerfed? Seems like since thursday/friday the whale spawn rate has decreased A LOT. Is it just me? I also have been talking to other people whaling in the grid and they all agree and feel like there aren't nearly as many whales as before. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Apr 2019 03:26 PM PDT Just think about how useful it would be to enable/disable certain categories of items when collecting ressources with an animal. My giraffe is loaded with 95% of berries but I can't use these berries to build a ship. My time investment is like Fix that please. Thanks you. See you. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Apr 2019 06:27 PM PDT So on the island that my company owns in D10, it seems like some of the deep shallows do not allow ships to anchor freely. This would not be an issue, except that since we play on the PVE server, we were hoping to great large docks in order to allow many different ships to come and go. I was wondering whether or not this was intended or if it is a simple result of some details missed. Note that these are deep shallows that I'm talking about, but I think these should be accessible by the larger ships like brigs and galleons. Also, I noticed that reef rocks tend to block build placement, but the game still treats it like an obstruction. I feel this should be changed to allow us to use those to work as anchors for docks and such. If it's solid enough to cause damage to a ship, it should be solid enough to build on.
